Nuclear weapons are explosive devices that get their destructive power from the transformation of matter into energy. They are many times more powerful than all conventional bombs, and are classified as chemical and biological weapons of mass destruction. The nations of the world have long sought ways to limit the spread of nuclear weapons and to reduce the chances of their use in war.

Control of Nuclear Weapons
The enormously destructive power of nuclear weapons has prompted many nations to make attempts to control both their spread and their use. In 1996, the United Nations approved the Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty that bans all testing of nuclear weapons. It will not take effect, however, until all countries with nuclear reactors or power generators ratify it. As of 2007 roughly three-fourths of countries with reactors have done so. Do you feel nuclear weapons should be banned?

I think that nuclear weapons are very destructive and should be kept to a small amount for countries that possess them. I don't think that they should be banned but I do think that the number of weapons in circulation should decrease by a severe amount.
